Since Moses Lake School District made the necessary decision to extend closure of Groff Elementary in April 2025, our focus has remained on addressing construction deficiencies, ensuring the safety of the facility, and completing the necessary mitigation work to restore the building for student use.
We understand the uncertainty this situation has created for students, staff, and families, and we appreciate the patience and support of the Groff Elementary community throughout this process.
All current information from our construction partners indicates that Groff Elementary will reopen to students at the start of the 2026–2027 school year, and we are planning accordingly.
Work at the site continues to move forward, including structural corrections, system replacements, and restoration of learning spaces. The district will continue to provide regular updates as progress continues and key milestones are reached.
