                                                                            2010 BA Washington State University

My name is Stephen Himple and I have been a school counselor at Frontier Middle School since 2014. I work with students and families with last names beginning with A-L. I enjoy listening and helping students explore their concerns and possibilities as they navigate their middle school experiences.
In addition to my role as a school counselor, I also co-advise Builders Club, which is an after school club designed to develop student leadership skills and foster the student’s desire to volunteer in the community.
As for personal interests outside of my school day, I love traveling with my family, and rooting for my native Washington State and Seattle area sports teams with a cup of peppermint hot cocoa in hand!

Dana Santos (M-Z)

1992 AA City College of San Francisco

1995 BS Cal State University Hayward

2004 MS Eastern Washington University

My name is Dana Santos and I have been at Frontier Middle School since 2004.  My plan was to only be at Frontier for a few years then move on, but I fell in love with Frontier and haven’t left! I work with students and families with the last names beginning with M-Z.

I am also the ASB advisor/Activities coordinator or what people like to call Frontier’s “cruise director”. We work hard, but we also play hard. Leadership, culture, climate, relationship building are what we focus on along with student growth and achievement. My motto: “If we have to be here together we may as well have some fun!”

Being born in San Francisco I am an avid 49er, Giants & Warriors fan. I love traveling, spending time with my family and friends and of course finding engaging, new, and fun activities for our Frontier community!

School Counselor Intern

2016 BS Boise State University

My name is Karli Skjervold and I have been a licensed counselor in the state of Washington working with substance use disorders since 2016. After transitioning to working with youth for a few months, and loving it, I made the decision to pursue school counseling. I am so excited to intern at Frontier Middle School while working on my Masters in School Counseling from Adams State University.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the lake, traveling, and spending time with family and friends!

I have been with MLSD for 16 years. I have worked in several buildings across the District. The relationships I have formed over the years are priceless. My high school sweetheart and I have been married for 37 years. We met here at MLHS! Go Chiefs!

We have two sons, a daughter, 9 (almost 10) grandchildren (5 girls, 5 boys) and 3 dogs. We love to travel. One summer, we covered 5000 miles and 13 states. One thing most people don't know is that I was raised riding and showing horses. I rode both English Equitation and Western Saddle.
