My name is Sara Larson and the 2023-2024 school year will be my second year as a school counselor at Frontier.  I taught 7th grade Math for 12 years prior to my switch into school counseling. In my current role, I primarily work with students and families with last names beginning with A-L. As a school counselor, I enjoy getting to know students and help them process their social and emotional needs as well as academic planning and scheduling.

Originally, I am from Auburn, Washington and have lived in Moses Lake for 14 years.  I like to spend my time with my husband, Brian, and our girls, Luna and Saphira.  We like to go to the Farmers Market, swim, and go for walks as a family through our neighborhood.  We also enjoy going on family vacations and to shows at the theater.

My name is Kyleigh Bakes and the 2023-2024 school year will be my third year as a school counselor and at Frontier, but I have been working in the Moses Lake School District since 2013 in various roles.  I work with students and families with last names beginning M-Z.  As a counselor, I enjoy helping students navigate not only academics, but also their social emotional and career development needs.  One of my biggest goals is to support my students in developing skills and behaviors that will allow them to pursue their dreams and achieve success!

Being a Moses Lake native, I enjoy many of the activities that Moses Lake and the surrounding area has to offer.  I like to spend my time hanging out with my twin boys and husband, being outside, and completing DIY projects at home.

In my downtime outside of work (aside from coaching), I enjoy spending time and making memories with my kids RJ, Xavien, and Kameron.  We often enjoy the outdoors (camping, swimming, skating, taking our puppy, Bella, on a walk, beach time, sports, etc.) and traveling to California to visit extended family. I have worked for the Moses Lake School District for 6 years now.  I started at Peninsula Elementary as a secretary, moved to the administration building as the liaison for the McKinney Vento program, as well as the assistant to the Attendance and Family Services program.  In between school years, I often worked Summer School to continue assisting our students with furthering their skills and education.  The 2023-2024 school year is my second school year here at Frontier Middle School, and I could not have picked a better school to work at.  Being located in the Counseling Office, I enjoy being able to learn more about our students and the school programs that our district offers.  I strive to do a great job and I am looking forward to many school years to come as a Frontier Spartan!
